ELECTION FIGURES INCOMPLETE
MELBOURNE, May 18.
A composite Ministry has been formed as follows: —Sir Stanlev Argyle, Premier, Treasurer and Minister of Health; Mr. lan Macfarlane, Chief Secretary; Mr. R. Menzies, Soli-citor-General and Railways; Mr. John Allan, Agriculture; Mr. A. Dunstan, Lands and Forests; Mr. J. Penningtop. Education; Mr. J. Jones, Works and Mines; Mr. G. Goudie, Water Supply and Labour. The election figures are not yet complete, but the late Attorney-Gen-eral (Mr. Slater) has been definitely defeated.
AUSTRALIAN STOCKS BUOYANT
SEQUEL TO LANG'S DOWNFALL
LONDON, May 18.
Financial newspapers stress the ebuoyancy of Australian stocks which is attributed to Lang's downfall, and the result of the Victorian elections. The Times says it is expected Premier’ Moore will now retain control in Queensland, in which event all the Governments of Australia will be united in support of the policy embodied in the Premiers’ plan which will be pursued vigorously by the Commonwealth Government.
