A HEAVY CLAIM
IN DIVORCE PETITION A WELLINGTON CASE The petition of Norman Stanley Lawn, company manager, Wellington, for a divorce from his wife, Eva Lawn, on the ground of adultery, was continued before Mr. Justice MacGergor and a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday.- George Leonard Reese, commercial traveller, is cited as co-respondent, and from him petitioner is claiming £lOOO dariiages. When the Court rose last evening, only three witnesses had been examined in two days. ‘‘A mass of irrelevant matter is being introduced into this case,” said his Honour. “ I have to leave for New Plymouth on Saturday morning, and if the case is not finished by Friday it will have to be postponed indefinitely. Up to the present, we have only got through two witnesses and partly heard ft third’in two long days, and if better progress is not made there will not be the slightest chance of finishing.” Counsel said that there was a good chance of finishing the case by Friday, as the remaining witnesses would -not take so long. The hearing will be resumed this morning.
