WELLINGTON, This Day.
Martin Brown, who was arrested after being scon to throw a stone on Tuesday’s not, was sentenced to-day to twelve months’ gaol. Walter John Willis, aged IS, who was earning £2 5s as a factory hand, and with regard to whom the probation officer submitted a good report was placed on probation. He must only associate with people approved by the probation officers and of good behaviour.
Herbert Clifford Love, 20,' a labourer who throw a piece of mortar in Wednesday’s affair and for theft, was sentenced to reformative treatment, not exceeding two years.
William Henry Pearce, 25, a labourer, found armed with a stone was
given six months. The Magistrate considered that the evidence was insufficient in the case of Charles Henry Hart, 34, a contractor, and dismissed two charges against him. Donald Alexander, 26, a seaman, who admitted breaking a window in Manners Street, was sentenced to three
months’ imprisonment. Other accused were before the court and decisions in these were reserved or sentence deferred.
