SHIP’S OFFICER ATTACKED
STOLEN CHEESE EPISODE
TWO MONTH’S GAOL GIVEN

WELLINGTON, This Day.
An attack on Archibald McSporran, third officer on the Raranga, when he went to the forecastle to recover a cheese stolen while the vessel was loading at New Plymouth, resulted in William Hall Sanfield, <% fireman, getting two months’ gaol today.
It was stated that the shipping company would guarantee that the accused would go back to England in one of its ship when discharged from gaol.
