CROSSING COLLISION
CAR WRECKED BY TRAIN DRIVER SEVERELY INJURED (per Press Association) ■'I)AHGAVILLE, Saturday. At aboutl2.3o yesterday afternoon a train bound from Tangawahine to Waiotira struck a motor-car at a level crossing near the Kirikopuni railway station. The motor-car, which was owned and driven by Mr. T. Matthews, contractor, had left the station yard and was proceeding toward Paradise Station. Mr. Matthews was alone in the car. The car was carried for about a chain before being thrown in a crumpled mass against a bank beside the line. . - Mr' Matthews was extricated from beneath the, vehicle and was conveyed to the home of Mrs. Juley near by. The extent of his injuries is' not know, but they fire believed to be, very serious.
