VICAR STOPS A DANCE.

While a dance was in progress at Durham, it was. dramatically interrupted by the vicar, the Rev. Mr Chambers, who mounted the platform, and demanded the discontinuance of the Charleston. He said: u The Charleston is banned by me; I w’ill not toleartc it here. Its movements are hideous and morally wronk and lacking in grace and dignity.”
