ANOTHER FRIGHTFUL SLAUGHTER.

In another column will be found an advertisement referring to an auction sale to be held in the Alexandra Hall on Thursday next, 31st May, commencing at 1.30 sharp. Messrs Hawkins & CK announce they will slaughter absolutely without reserve 60 pairs of Nottingham lace "window curtains. Every pair of curtains is described as a perfect dream. Each pair is of different pattern, and they run from 2|yds to 4£yds in length. The firm declares that people are asking how it is that they can sell such beautiful goods without reserve. The reply is that the firm minds its own business, and that business just now is to sell Nottingham,lace curtains. At the same sale a consignment of heavy ruga will be offerred, and the public is urged not to forget the sale.
