Pity the Victims.
A hair-catting match between “ Professor ” Harrod, a colored tonsorial artist, and “ Professor ” Charmak, an English barber, for the championship of America, took place in New York recently. The first cut was Pompadour style. Harrod finished his man in five minutes, while Charmak consumed nineteen. Harrod won at the next style in seven minutes, while Charmak required fifteen minutes. No Englishman may hope to compete with an African-American barber in handling a razor or the shears, don’t you know ?
