LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

HOSPITAL COMFORTS FUND Sir, —Through your courtesy in allowing me space and publishing my statements, I have been able to le-. the public know how the Hospital Comforts Fund was expended. Ag I have indicated previously, this fund was the means of putting many extra comforts in our hospital. With the small sum left a library cupboard has been erected and there yet remain a few pounds with whieh to purchase books ,the Thames Hospital Board having made a grant of £5 for this purpose. I will be verygrateful to the public of Waihi if they would donate to the patients’ library any bound books they may have and which are of no further use to them. Books may be left at the hospital or at my home in Kenny Street, while Beach residents may leave them with Mrs Drinkwater. Thanking everyone for past support.—l am, etc., (Mrs) D. WILLIAMS, Member Thames Hospital Board.
