WAIHI LADIES’ GOLF CLUB

R S.A. TROPHY AND LAST ROUND CAPTAIN’S .TROPHY VISIT BY WAIHI BEACH CLUB Some good scores were returned on Wednesday when handicap members of the Waihi Ladies’ Golf Club p'ayed a Stableford bogey round. This was the last round of the captain’s trophy and the first for the R.S.A. trophy. Mrs N. G. Frear returned the best card to "play 11 strokes below her handicap, 87-24, 63. Her Stableford was 41. Mrs Frear is the winner of the captain’s trophy. Mrs W. Parr i educed her handicap by 6 strokes, 103- 68, with 39 Stableford points. Mrs N. H. Rickman played me stroke below her handicap, 87-14, 73, Stableford, 35 points. Mrs 11. Malyon reduced her handicap by 1 stroke, 101-28, 73, Stableford points, 32. Mrs W. Wotherspoon l educed her handicap by 3 strokes, 104- 71, Stableford, 31. Good cards were also returned by Mrs W. E. Ludwig with 29 Stableford points, and by Mesdames E. Farrell, PI. A. Haszard and E. H. Payze, with 28 points each. In the C section played on Tuesday, Mesdames R. Butler and L. Francis tied for first place with 21 Stableford points. Mrs C. Jennings scored 20 points. On Thursday of last week members of the Waihi Beach Ladies’ Club visited Waihi for an inter-club match with members of the C section. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent, enhanced by perfect weather. It is hoped this will be the forerunner of many such events. Next week both sections will play an L.G.U. round combined with a Stableford bogey for the second round of the R.S.A. trophy. Players will choose their partners,
