A STARTLING ACCIDENT

WELLINGTON, Nov. 19,

The cogwheel of a <jrane on the new Parliament Buildings smashed this morning, sending a load of sand and cement crashing to the ground. Pieces of the broken cogwheel were thrown into Lambton Quay and the grounds of the Government buildings on the opposite side of the street. 'Several persons narrowly escaped injury from the flying metal.
