CONDITIONS LOCALLY.

Hand to mouth conditions of supply exists in the sugar market locally, and no dealer or merchant is able to obtain. stocks for more than present requirements at ration rates. Tie Aupouri, from Onehunga, did not bring a single bag of sugar to-day. The reason for this was that the Government Controller, who makes the allotments for all parts, allotted a supply of sugar for Wanganui for next week, and the Aupouri left before the allocation was made. The ship is to make a return visit to Wanganui next week to bring the much needed supplies. This supply will be divided among the various dealers pro rata in accord with their orders.
