WELLINGTON, November 18,
As further progress was impossible, it was decided to refer the question of hours and wages,to the Court for settlement. Several matters were agreed on. It was decided fiat a worker should be entitled upon the completion of each year of service either to a week’s holiday on full pay or a week’s wages in lieu c-f holiday. It was agreed that youths’ wages should he; Youths 17 years, 17a Gd per week; 17 to 18, £1 12s 6d; 18 to 19, £2 2s 6d: 19 to 21, £2 15a. Progressive increases will be granted to youths who undergo in technical colleges the. stipulated period of instruction in their tirade. The formation e£ a disputes committee for the trade is provided for.
