Tire latest details available regarding the war gratuity scheme are that the Treasury will cash bonds in all cases of hardship or special emergency. The Repatriation Department will accept bonds, for the purchase of lands, homes and businesses. Banks will accept the bonds as collateral security for the purchase of laud or houses from private owners. It is proposed to cash ten million pounds’ worth of bonds in May, 1921, the remainder to be cleaned immediately. It is possible to raise the money in the local or foreign market.
