Just before going to press wc learned that the condition of Mrs N. P. Manson, who was injured in a motorcar accident this morning, was as satisfactory as could be expected, though still serious. A meeting of the executive of the Lurie Hill Ratepayers’ and Electors’ Association waa held in the schoolroom on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs S. Read (chair), Davis, Silcock* White, Collins, Maxwell, Minnell and Nairn (lion, secretary). It was resolved; That the Council be urged to have the footpath on ihe south side of Dune Street asphalted, channelled and extended from the point where it terminates in front of Ross’ properties. Messrs Read and Collins were appointed to interview the executive officers of kindred associations within the Borough with a view to some united action Ixdng taken re the Council making use of large sums of money deposited “at call” for purposes for which, otherwise, the sanction of the ratepayers would be necessary.
