THE TOTE IN N.S.W.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Received April 12, 9.25 a.m. SYDNEY .April 12. The Chief Secretary sympathised with and promised Cabinet consideration to representations from country racing clubs in favour of a more liberal percentage of totalisator funds. It was stated that unless the prewent 3 per cent, allowance was increased it would not pay the clubs, and the machine would never become popular in the ccurtry. It was suggested that the Government 7 per cent, should be taken out of the turnover instead of out of profits.
