Doctor Brown has returned after conducting an inquiry into the recent removal of a Methodist missionary from the Island of Outong, Java, as a result of certain complaints about his treatment of natives. The Rev, Dr Brown found that there had been misunderstandings on both sides. An arrangement has been made for a Tongan native minister to take the place of the missioner. r-Tlie natives allowed to attend the- church are pleased there was no compulsion or interference.
