C. E. Holway, the world’s sprint champion, left the Bluff for Melbourne by the Warrimoo on Sunday. His special mission is the big match with Donaldson. E. R, (“Mick”) Terry, manager for Jack Donaldson, has received a cable from C. E. Holway, stating that he could go right ahead with the arrangements for the match between him and Donaldson, which is to take place at Bendigo, on April 12. Holway has promised to post a side-wager with Mr Geo. Cook, the Melbourne correspondent of the Sydney Referee, on his arrival there. Donaldson is going along nicely in his training, and he should be cherry-ripe by April 12. He is leaving no stone unturned to thoroughly condition himself, as he recognises how important the issue will be. A. B. Postle arrived in Australia from South Africa by the Arawa, and is looking for a match with Holway. He will be a competitor in the great meeting at Stawell, Victoria, when .£530 will be given away in prizes at the Easter festival. Alfred Shrubb is reported to have beaten the world’s record in his match with Longboat at Pittsburg on .January 10, covering 15 miles in..
