BOAT CLUB. ME A. GEAY’S TEOPHY. The first of .the preliminary heats for, th© above trophy were rowed on Monday evening, Wadman, IGseca., met McLaren, 25secs.,. tlie former catching his, man at the Baths and winning by half a length. Carr, 25secs„ and Cannons, 35secs., then rowed,, the latter winning rather easily by two lengths. Last night another couple of heats were decided. Cottetill, sch., rowed W. Findlay, 13secs., the latter getting ill© verdict by two lengths. Yarrow, sch., and Slyfield, IGsecs., then measured blades. Yarrow sculled well from the start, and was abreast of his rival at Ingestre Street, bub Slyfield then sprinted, and drew away again, eventually winning by two lengths.
