Sir Edward Tennant, at the Canadian Club banquet, at Vancouver, spoke of the prospects of the Monroe doctrine. He declared. that Oriental immigration would lead to trouble in the Pacific in a few years; hence, he warned Canada to widen her political outlook and strengthen herself for the great part she would be certain to,have to play in the Empire’s future.
