KING EDWARD MEMORIAL.
MR. MACKENNAL’S SUGGESTION. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. Eeceived March 24, 8.5 a.m. , LONDON, March 23. Mr B. Mackennal proposes a fourteen feet statue' of King Edward below the figure of Peace, with a processional group delineating the arts of peace, and a similar group around the figure Britannia on St. James’-Park side of the memorial. The whole work will be 50 feet high, and he suggests that there should be a flight of steps connecting the memorial with the widened avenue and bridge over the lake in the Park, the bridge to.be designed by Edwin Lutyens. It is calculated the work will be completed in five years.
