ROWING.
A.B.C LICENSED VICTUALLERS’ PAIR-OAR TROPHIES. The second heat for the above trophies was rowed last evening between A. Phillips and A. Godfrey, the latter winning by two lengths after a good race. The winner led from the start, and was never headed. The third heat, which was also decided last night, provided a splendid struggle, S. Bone eventually defeating L. Cannon by about two feet. Cannon jumped away with a length's lead, and kept this advantage until within a hundred yards from home. Bone quickened up, and passing his erstwhile leader, was about half a length to the good. Cannon then put in a great effort, and succeeded in reducing the deficit to the distance stated. The two favourite crews—Thomson's and Scott’s—will meet to-night, when a dingdong struggle is expected.
