N.Z. FRUIT CROPS.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 22,
The Hon. T. Mackenzie has received the following telegraphic reports as to the fruit crops in the north of Auckland:— Peaches arc nearly over; late apples are in fair supply; pears are light. la the south of Auckland, Japanese plums are good, English moderate; for nectarines and peaches there .has been a good season, apples arc good, though late sorts are affected by the dry weather; pears arc below 7 the average. In Hawke’s Cay and Wellington East, the stono fruit is nearly done. The late rains have benefited the apples and pears, which are plentiful and of good quality. In Taranaki the pears and apples are fairly good. In Nelson the late peaches are heavy, apples arc good, and peaches fair to average, In Marlborough, late apples are limited and pears' good. In Canterbury Stunners Wolsley arc good; other apples very light; and pears light. In Otago and Soutliland stone fruit is about finished. Pears arc fair, apples very light.
