SWIMMING.
W.A.S.C, y.‘ W.C.S. EM PS ON CUP RELAY RACE. The annual relay race for the Einpson Cup, between the Wanganui Amateur Swimming Club and the Wanganui Collegiate School was hold last evening in the College Baths. There was an overflowing attendance, and considerable enthusiasm was manifested in the race. Bridges, Bignell, Brown, and Swan represented W.A.S.C., and Pryce, Faber, Elder, and Armstrong swam for School. After an oven and exciting contest, in which every stroke counted for winning or losing, W.A.S.C. won by a foot. Time, 56sec. • The Empson Cup has now been won by the Wanganui Amateur Swimming Club seven years in succession. The first three years after the presentation of the Cup, 1902, 1903, and 1904, it was won by Col--1 lege. Since then the town club has hold the trophy. There is no provision for its being won outright.
