GONVILLE FIRE BRIGADE.

Lieutenant Halligan presided over the first annual meeting of the Gonville Fire Brigade on Thursday evening, when all the members except two, who are out of town, were present. The published report and the balance sheet were read, showing a very satisfactory position. Votes of thanks.. to Messrs. W. G. Bassett, R. and E. Tingey, C. F. Giesen, Dustins Ltd., J. Allan, A. C. Leimard, and J. Granville were carried in acknowledgement of donations. The following officers were elected: — Captain, Lieut! C. Halligan ; lieutenant, Foreman J. Arnold • foreman, No. 1 Company, Fireman C. Dimes; foreman No. 2 Company, Fireman C. Leatherland; secretary, Mr. E. Chatwin (reelected unopposed): treasurer, Mr. F.i Bourne (re-elected unopposed).—The following committee was elected: Fireman Lvall (re-elected), Alpress and Mouat. Mr. B. F. Fraser was elected auditor, and Foreman Leathcrland handicapper.
