THE CHURCHES.
The services at the Aramoho Wesleyan Church will be taken by the Rev. E. D. Ratchett in the morning, and Mr. W. Lee Martin in the evening. The Rev. E. D. Patchott will preach afternoon and evening at MaxwelltoWn.
The Rev. J. A. Luxford’s subject at Trinity Church to-morrow evening is, “The Sabbath; Its Sacrcdness its only Safety as a Day of Rest.” The first of a series of young people’s meetings will be held in Dublin Street Primitive Methodist Church on Sunday evening at 7 p.m., and will be continued on the last Sunday evening of each month. The chief characteristic of the service will he its freedom from conventionalism, its hearty singing of Sankey’s and Torrey Alexander’s hymns, and its evangelistic note. The non-church-gofng young men of our city who are seeking for a bright, happy mooting arc specially invited. The choir will begin at 6.45 with 15 minutes’ joyful praise. Service 7 p.m. All seats free.
A full attendance of Members of St. Paul’s Senior Young Men’s Bible, Class is desired to-morrow afternoon, as business of a very important nature will be before the meeting. This is to remind any who have not received a notice.
Special harvest festival thanksgivings will be conducted to-morrow in the Salvation Army Hall, when a hearty reception will also be given to Adjutant Haywood, the new divisional officer. Adjutant Rolands, Wanganui’s pioneer officer, will also assist during the day. “What Think ye of the Doctrine of Theosophy?” A lecture will be delivered in Sherrifi’s Studio, Ridgway Street, to-morrow evening at 7 o’clock, on this all absorbing subject.
