A Dunedin wire announces the death of Andrew Hislop, father of the private secretary to the Prime Minister. Deceased arrived in the Philip Lang in 1853, and settled at the Taieri. He was at the Gabriel's Gully and Hokitika gold rushes, »nd joined the railway service in 1880^ retiring six years ago, when he settled at Stirling.
