THE RIRO-RIROS
The above are a talented and unique company of gills from the Salvation i.nny Girts rlome, Wellington. The Rio Riros — from the Maori proverb ''VVnen + he rironcb (native bird) sings tummor is near" — is a fitting term for a company of young girls, who have had their own lives Diiglitened and are now trying to dispel winter from and bring summer cheer to others. They have been specially trained by and are under the direction of Major Holdaway, himself an expert musician. We gather from 'alest northern files to hand that they havu been greeted by large and enthusiastic crowds, and are a wonderful testimony of the army's ability in moulding tho little lives tor future usefulness. We leel sure tnat next Sunday afternoon and night the Opera. House will be crowded to welcome them.
People interested in the great ocial work of the army, and also in vork. among orphans and other children, should not tail to hear them. On the Monday they will appear in their grand programme. Box plan is now open at H. I. Jonefl and Sons'
