OUR VOLUNTEERS.
WANGANUI DEFENCE CADETS.
Members of the above corps are reminded of the parade this evening at 7.30. A full muster is requested as the sections will very shortly start practising for the shield competitions. The membership of the corps is now improving, but there are still a few vacancies for suitable lads.
Those members who attended the day light parade on September 19th, are noti fied that payment will be made this even-
Shooting will commence on Saturday. The fixtures will be notified on parade ' his evening.
The corps has at last secured a captain and now it is to be hoped that members will do their best to attend parade regularly. Also at the last meeting of the corps Colour-Sergeant Porteous was elected to the position of junior sub-altern. Lieut. Porteous has now been with the corps close on four years, and during that time has taken great interest in the welfare of the corps. He thoroughly deserves his promotion.
Mrs S. H. Walker, 230, Humffray St.. Ballarat, writes — "Have used Chamberlain's Cough Remedy for four years, and know it is excellent. Have found it most beneficial. Can recommend it to anyone — -in fact, have done so many times, and it has accomplished good results in every case." For sale by all chemists and storekeepers.
