(Psr United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Juuo 6. The annual meeting of the Country Schools Committees Association was held to-day under the presidency of Mr T. McKenzie, M.11.X. A large number of delegates -was present from all parts of Otago, and resolutions were adopted, in favour of the payment of teachers for doing seventh standard work, adequate staffing of schools, restoration to Uducation Boards of ths control of the building vote, upkeep of school buildings by Hie Education rtoard*. erection of shelter sheds by Boards, addition of rooms to schools for changing wet garments, facilities lor obtaining equal opportunities for country children as for city children, tree travelling to pupil* attending- technical classes over » tiO-mile limit, selection by the Board of a teacher of aptitude in imparting inatracton iv agriculture and a recommendation, to the Government to defray the cost of two years instruction for same in an up-to-date institution in America and Europe in order to fully qualify himself to give, instruction in this colony, encouragement of local as against central control, district high schools to be under tho entire control of the Education Boards, and bettor salaries to be paid to teachers in. charge of iiee secondaiv education.
