Messrs Levin and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co.. report: — We held our usual monthly sale yesterday, offering 10 bales and 80 bags of wool, 1750 skins, 1400 hides and calf skins, besid« tallow, rough fat, horsehair, and cow tails, horns, and bones. There was the usual attendance of buyers and competition was keen. There was not much wool offering, but what was offered sold at prices eo^ual to last sale. Skins, in sympathy with the fall elsewhere, showed a decline of id per pound. Hides were very firm, and sold at good prices. There was a large entry of cut- slippy, and badly conditioned hides, which were not well competed for, but for well-conditioned hides competition was very good, and satisfactory rates were obtained. We quote : Wool. — Crossbred fleece, 8d to BJd, crutchings, 5Jd to 6}d, dead wool 7£d to 73d. Skins. — Crossbred 7^d to 7fd, short wools 6§d to 7Jd, dead hoggets 6Jd to 6Jd, dead 6d to 6Jd, butchers' green 6s to 8s 4d. " Hides.— Good ox 27s 6d to 31s, light do 21s to 235, good cow 23s to 255, light do 16s 6d to 21s 6d, yearlings 5s 9d to 11s 9d, calf skins 2s to 3s 2d, or from 6£d to 7sd per lb, slippy and cut hides were lower. Tallow.— ln tins 18s 6d to 19s 3d; no casks offering. Horsehair. — Is 5d per lb. Bones.— 4a per cwt.
