THE McTAVISH BENEFIT,
A 6 our readers are aware, the Wanganui Amateur Dramatic Society have arranged to repeat the domestic drama, " Liberty Hall." recently staged wirli much success, on Wednesday, 26tfi inst.. the occasion being a benefit to the well-known piper Mr. R. McTavish, who recently had tfle misfortune to lose 'a. leg. We hear that the sale of tickets has been unusually large, and everything points to a substantial sflin "being raised for the object in view. ' The drama itself is a most interesting one, full of powerful situations, and bearing in view the wortEy cause for which it is put on, we "have no doubt tlrat a large audience will fill the Opera House to witness it. Tickets are obtainable at Messrs. H. I. Jones and Son's, A. D. AVillis', and at all tobacconists, and the box plan, will open on Friday next
The Salvation Army are holding a missionary tea to-morrow evening in the Hall Guyton Street. Special tables will be provided, and a special programme will be rendered. A bright and cheerful time is promised for all who attend. The proceedings commence at 6.30 p.m.
