CANCER IN FISH.

MASTERTON, 1 September 15.

Several trout at the Masterton hatcheries are suffering from Cancerous growth, generally in the vicinity of the gille. At is believed to be due tojithe fish not securing supplies of tfteir natural food. The fitli afflicted were marked, and special diet treatment tried, but although they have been treated for three months, there is no appreciable differenein'ttie growths, which in some cases are, ulcerated and sloughing. Mr GilruW, Chief Veterinarian, is taking a good deal of interest in the matter.
