His Worship the Mayor (Mr A. G. Bignell) leaves on a trip to Hamilton in the Waikato to-morrow, returning on Saturday week.

In reply to a requisition presented to him, Mr A. R. Barclay has consented to become a candidate for the North Dunedin seat at the general election.

Mr George T. Kitchen, who ,a Bhort time ago resigned' his position as head brewer at the Commercial Brewery, Stepney (London), which he has occupied ever since tho opening of that> concern about 33 years ago, is at present tpuring New Zealand, and is expected in Wanganui shortly.
