FORESTERS' LODGE.

Social and Danoe.

The Assembly Rooms last (Friday) evening were ; tilled to overflowing',- the occasion being x the annual- social and' dance pf the Wa.nga.nui 'Foresters' Lodge. The committee , (Messrsr- H. .Moore, W. Foley, A. O'Connor, j." Love, G." B. Price, W. Perrett, W,. Beaumont, J. Munro, and R. Croton) are to be congratulated on the able manner in which the arrangements were carried out; 1 the whole 1 affair going off without a hitch. During the evening items were given by the following gentlemen, one and all receiving well merited rounds of applause: — Song, G. LarMn; clarionet solo,- Mr Matthews; song, Mr M. Dixon; song,~Mr George Copley; songi Mr G. LarHn (encored), Mr Godfrey Copley, in his usual finished style, playing the acQompanhnentih Thp floor was in good condition, and theM'sC.', Messrs .G. B. Price, O'Connor, and J. Love, did everything in their -power- to ensure the enjoyment of those present. Mrs Lockett supplied the music and gave every satisfaction, her playing earning the praise of one and all. Extras by the Copley brothers (Godfrey,George, and Wilfred) were appreciated. The catering by Mr W. S.'Dustrn needs no commendation from us, as his name in this line is sufficient guarantee, for the quality of the spread. The fun©-, tion was "brought to a close about four o'clock, all those present expressing themselves as being very pleased with the turn out. , , . '
