Fmdiy, lßi April, 1898. HOUSE-BRKUUKti. Frederick Cartwright, who pleaded guilty on Wednesday to breaking and entering the house of a native at Ohakato, was biought up for sentence. Mr Barnicoat, on behalf of Mr Meldrum, represented the accused. His Honor admitted accused to probation for pix months, on condition that he gave up tho stolen property or paid its value (£10) within one month, and entered into a recognisance with one surety in £25 to perform the above condition, aud be of good behaviour for 6 months, runjunv. Walter H. Coopor, who was found guilty of perjury in tho Galvm — O'Driscoll case heard in the lower Court in Wauganui in August last, aud who received three months but had his sentence reviewed, was also placed in the dock. Prisoner handed in certificates of character, and applied for probation. His Honor admitted prisoner to probation for six months, on condition that he entered into a recognisance in £25 to be of good behaviour for that period.
