COLLEGIATE SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS.

The annual swimming sports in connection with the Wanganui Collegiate School, which were held at the Corporation Baths yesterday, passed off most successfully. T.ho Murphy Bros, pioved themselves superior to their school-fellows in the pleasurable and useful art, and put up some fast times, though not quite equal to the records established by D. St. Gorton. For the Dietriot Kelay Race teams entered representing Wanganui, Napier, Forty-mile Bush, South Island, Norfolk Inland, and Gisborne, the latter proving victorious after a most interesting and exciting contest. Tho Dormitory Tub Race, which was won by Mr Watson's charge, also excited a good deal of interest. Results :— '100 Yauds Opkn (Dr Saunders' Challenge Cup) ; record, D. St. Gorton, 78sec, •1897— R. K.
