The above body met on the sth instant, when there were present — Messrs Todd (chair), Kellick and Addenbrooke. Minutes— The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence— The following letters were received: — From the Secretary to the Treasury stating that, as the special roll for the £1500 River Loan shows that as the valuation of the Crown and native land 1 ! in the special rating district is more than two-thirds of the total rateable valution, section 7 of the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act 189G bars the said loan being made, but there is nothing to prevent the Board delaying to make the special order for the special rate until the new valuations have come into operation, should the valuation be so altered as to enable tho Board to comply with the Amendment Act. Received. From Mr H. Skinner, suggesting that the decking of the bridges be tarred. Mr Kellick was deputed to act in the matter. Water Though at Kujangaroa— The clerk was instructed to write to the Puma Road Board drawiug their attention to the condition of tho water trough at Kauaugaroa. Maintenance Men— lt was decided that Mr G. Bolton be put on the main road to metal etc., and that the maintenance man on the River Road be paid off. Valuation Roll — The olerk was instructed to apply to the Valuer-General for a copy of the new valnation roll. Accounts— A number of accounts wore passed for payment and the meeting then closed.
