The French expedition to Fashoda, Upper Nile region, under the command of the Marquis Bouchamps, failed in its mission in consequence of tho Abyssinian auxiliaries having deserted. Capetown, March 10. 'In the course of an interview Mr Cecil Bhodes admitted he was the leader of the Progressive Party in the Cape Parliament. He denounced the eternal whine of the Africanders, who supported every rottenness in Pretoria.
