Colqnohonn, the explorer, traveller and author of " The English Policy in the Far East/ referred to the Chinese question, and said Australians would bitterly resent any action which wonld result in closing the Chinese-Japanese markets through British neglect. Mr James Huddart also spoke, and said the trade of China vitally affected Australian ' tralian colonists, who would willingly support a bold persistent policy.
