The sheriff and deputies who were com-* mitted for trial in connection with Sazleton tragedy have been acquitted. The charge arose out of the sheriff having ordered the officers to fire on a mob of miners on strike. Londox, March 10. Lord Salisbury has recovered from the attack of influenza and resumed his duties. The election to fill the vacancy for Stepney Tower Hamlets, caused by the death of Mr Isaacson, Conservative, resulted in the return of Mr Steadman, Liberal, wh° defeated Mr Evana Gordon, Unionist, by 20 votes. The death is announced of Earl Bradford.
