MARINE CASUALTY.
« . Wreck of the Steamer Day-spring. (By Eloctrio Telegraph— Copyright.) (Per United Press Association.) Stdbkt, October 22. The mission steamer Duysprine is a total wreck off the north coast or New Caledonia. Six of the crew are missing. Later. So fat as can be ascertained the Dayspring had no passengers. She left here on the 6th with the usual cargo of stores, and atruck a reef on the north coaßt of New Caledonia a week ago. The captain, mate, the engineer «nd seven others landed safely, bnt a boat which contained six of the crew is missing. The vessel,! which was qaite new, cost about .612,000, and is believed to be insured for only half her value. October 24. The Dayspring was insured for only £2000 and tbe cargo for £500. It is thought probable that tbe missing boat will have landed at some of the adjacent iilands.
