AUCKLAND,
May 22. A number of carpenters, bricklayers and plasterers (100), through the Hon. W, Jennings, asked the Premier to adopt tbe co-operative principle in the reerection of the Auxiliary Asylum, The Premier states that the proposal will receive favourable consideration, and instructions Have been given to have the plan* and specifications prepared forthwith. Twonativeß, named Herenna Heka and Erimihia, have, been arrested on a charge of horse stealing. James Whitelaw, a bankrupt, on a charge of not keeping proper books, was coiamitted for trial. Bail was allowed.
