DEATH OF MR MORRAH.

(Por United Presß Association.) WBIIiiNTGON, February 15. Mr E. W- Morrah, Inspector of tho Bank of Australasia, died rather suddenly this morning. Later. The cause of Mr Morrah's death, was failure of the heart's action. He had been complaining lately of feeling unwell, but attributed it to the hot weather and thought very little of it. He went to the bathroom as usual at eight o'clock this morning and turned on the water, and as was his custom, returned to his bedroom and lay down for a few moments until the bath filled ; but soon after he gained his bed he gasped and oxpired. He had always enjoyed excellent health, and it was his boast that he had never been laid up in his life. He had baen forty-two iyears in the service of the bank, having joined in Victoria in 1851, and for the last eighteen years had been inspector for New Zealand. He leaves a widow and thirteen children, most of whom are grown up. In accordance with the bank's rule ho should have retired some years ago, but at the requst of the directors, who recognised his great ability, ho remained in ths service. He was 64 years of age
