A CONTRADICTION.
«. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I notice in your issue of the 13th a contradiction of a statement in the Chronicle relating to the filthy state of the yards and rights-of-way on the Quay, between Bell's bakery and the corner of Wicksteed Street. How you could waste the space of a respectable journal to contradict a paper that is never particular what falsehoods it circulates so long as it fills its columns with some rubbish or other, is a puzzle to me and many others. I may state that it was only one thin-skinned neighbor who took any notice of the lie in questioa, as the the others well knew what character the morning paper bears for truth. Apologising for trespassing on your space, and commenting on your conduct as an editor. — I am, &c, A Resident on the Q'UY.
