» MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wednesday, Dec 12. - Stock are without any quotable change since my last report. The demand continues fairly good at current rates for all descriptions of cattle and sheep. At Kakaramea, the yards were full. The bidding was dull at the auction, but I placed every line afterwards. At Manaia, only a small number came forward, and they were not sold. At St. Hill Street, the pens were well filled, and all lots were cleared, with the exception of some milch cows. Sheep sold well at good prices; one line of shorn ewes had to be turned out unsold, the price offered not being up to owners 1 value. The attendance at the sale was large by those interested in the Bale of stock Cattle. — At Kakaramea, 141 head were sold : Bullocks, £4 10s; good cows, £3 to £3 2s 6d (nearly fat) ; 2-year-old steers, £2 17s 6d ; heifers, £2 ; yearlings, 30s. At the yards to-day, 228 head were sold : Fat bullocks, £6 16s to £7 15a ; bullocks, £4 6s 3d ; cows, 375 ; milch cows, £2 10s to £6 ; yearlings, 25s to 275. Sheep. — At Kakaramea, 418 were sold : Ewes and lambs, 13s ; shorn ewes, 7s. At St. Hill Street, 563 were penned : Ewes and lambs in wool made 15a lid ; wethers, in wool, 14s lOd to 15s. Pigs. — In good demand, from 22s 6d to 28s, according to quality. Horses. — No alteration in value. Over one-half that were entered found purchasers at current rates.
