CARLYLE TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the above toocly was held on Monday, February 7th. Present— Mr Sherwood, in the chair, Messrs McCarthy, Taplin, Milroy, and Southby. The minutes of the last meeting Avero read and confirmed. i The Sanitary Report of Sergt. Whelan was read. Moved b> the Chairman, and seconded jby Mr Taplin— That Sergt. Whelan be i instructed to give notice to certain parties having cesspools or other unwholesome things within their premises to remove the same within 14 days. Carried. Proposed by Mr Milroy, and seconded by Mr Southby — That a Committee composed of Messrs Taplin, Sherwood, Williams, and the mover be deputed to arrange about leasing the Reserves. Carried. Proposed by Mr Milroy, and seconded iby Mr Southby — That tenders be called j for parties Avilling to supply the Board Avith gravel for tAvelve months, each tender stating price of gravel per load. Carried. Proposed by Mr Taplin, and seconded by Mr Milroy — That the Government be requested to put in repair that portion of the road lying between the Patea bridge and the boundary of the Town Board, I the finances of the Board not being at pre- ' sent sufficient to keep the 1 same in repair. Carried. Proposed by Mr Milroy, and seconded by Mr Taplin — That the Collector do take immediate action to recover all outstanding debts. Carried. The accounts of Mr Willis, stationery, £2 7s 6d, and J. Ivess, advertising, £1 13s, were presented and passed for payment. Moved by Mr Milroy, and seconded by Mr McCarthy—That the meeting be adjourned till the first Monday in March. Carried.
