WANGANUI-WAITOTARA HIGHWAY BOARD.

• Monday, Feb. 7th. Present — Messrs Pharazyn (Chairman) Dyniock, Moore, Iveson and Watt. JREPOKT. The Engineer's report was read and laid on the table. RESOLUTION. Resolved — That the sum of £15 be granted to Mr Heslop towards the improvement o£ his road ; the money to be paid on the production of a certificate by the Engineer to the effect that Mr Heslop had expended a similar amount. That a committee' consisting of the Chairman and Messrs Iveson and Watt be authorized to call for and accept tenders for the formation of the Kaikokopu road on the receipt of the Engineer's report. That the engineer be instructed to examine and report before next meeting on the application, of certain settlers at Maxwell to have a road formed at Huxley street connecting with the north road. That if the owners of land on the Kaikokopu road continue to neglect cutting the furze, due notice having been given, the engineer be authorized to have it cut afc their expense. That the Chairman be authorized to consult the Borough Solicitor relative to the effect of the 'Superintendent's proclamation under clause 85 of the Highway's Act with a' view to take the necessary step to enforce the provision of clause 84 relative to the width of wheel tires used.
