STRIKE ENDED

AT LINTON COAL MINE. INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. It was announced to-night that the strike at the Linton coal mine had ended, and work would be resumed in the morning. An immediate attempt would be made to settle the dispute between the company and the union over the recent dismissal of a trucker. The employee concerned had been reinstated pending a settlement of the dispute by the central disputes committee, whose decision would be final. —(P.A.)
