'PLANE DAMAGED
PILOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. SYDNEY, Sunday. In his third accident while flying a shark patrol plane, Ernest Collibeo, aged thirty, suffered head and bodily injuries, and a passenger, John Harrison, aged 24, a fractured leg. The engine failed while the piano was flying nearly Manly. Collibec attempted to land in a paddock, but nose-dived in trying ot avoid children playing there. "« The plane is wrecked. Collibec’s condition is serious.
A message from Sydney on 17th March stated:—“The second recent mishap to .a surf patrol aeroplane occurred to-day. A machine with two occupants was forced down at Narrabeen beach, and attempted to take the air again, but came down in the water some fifty yards away. The occupants were uiihurt, and the ’plane was only damaged.
